The Fabrication and use of materials depends in large measure on such mechanical properties as strength, hardness, ductility and toughness. Numerical data describing these properties can be obtained from standard types of tensile, compression flexure, hardness, impact, creep, and fatigue tests.

At ITS we carry out various types of Mechanical Testing Services conforming to various standards like ASTM, API, ASME, AMS, MIL etc. We also carry out customized product testing on varied components like Fasteners, Bearing Components, Castings, Forgings, Powder Metallurgy parts, and on various types of materials like ferrous & non-ferrous metals, plastics, composites, rubber, high-temperature alloys. The type of testing can vary from simple bend test to more complex ones like Cyclic Load tests at elevated or sub-zero temperatures.

We have excellent in-house machining shop which supports the department with precise specimen preparation and fixture fabrication.

Some of equipment in our up-to-date machine shop is Kalamazoo Horizontal and Vertical Band Saws, Buehler Metallurgical saw and Precision Abrasive Cut-off wheel, Clausing Surface Grinder and Precision Lathes etc.

The operations of the mechanical test laboratory are supervised by a Professional Engineer with over thirty five years of dedicated experience and expertise in mechanical and metallurgical testing laboratory. The staff engineers in the laboratory possess bachelors and masters degrees in metallurgical and mechanical engineering from prestigious institutions. The technicians are very experienced and all our personnel undergo in-house discipline specific continual improvement training.
