AWS Certification for Welders in NY Metro Area by Inspection & Testing Services

The Certified Welder program by the American Welding Society (AWS) is a program with no prerequisite courses or certifications required. This certification will provide your company and your welders with national recognition.
The Certified Welder (CW) program test to procedures used in the structural, petroleum pipelines, sheet metal and chemical refinery welding industries. Furthermore, there are provisions to certify welders to a specific employer-supplied or non-code welding specification.

  • AWS D1 Code WPS—Structural
  • AWS D9.1 Code WPS—Sheet Metal
  • ASME Section IX WPS—Boiler & Pressure Vessel
  • Non-Code WPS—Employer/ Client Specified

What can ITS do for you?

Certification process should not be a cause of stress or aggravation to you. We do it all.

  • WPS—You can utilize AWS Standard Welding Procedure Specifications, alternately, the welder has the option to test to Non-Code/ employer-specified procedures.

  • Welding Coupons—We provide you with appropriate size coupons that are machine beveled with appropriate land. All test coupons are required to have material certification, and we maintain the same in our files.

  • Welding Equipment—You have the option to either utilize your own equipment or you can use our state of the art Miller XMT 350 MIG Runner multi-process Welder.

  • Consumables—We also provide you with certified electrodes and other consumables, if you desire to utilize our equipment.

  • Testing—All the testing of the coupons, such as Bend Tests, Nick Breaks and/ or X-Ray etc. is carried out at our laboratory in Linden, NJ. This ensures FAST delivery of your results to you and AWS.

  • Training—Although we do not provide any training in-house to maintain our independent Test Facility status, we can tie you up with AWS recognized Welding Schools and AWS Certified Welding Educators in your area.

What is the Process ?

Contact us by phone, fax or e-mail using the contact information provided in this brochure. We shall Fax/ E-mail/ Mail the appropriate documents to you the same day. Send us the completed application along with the payment. We shall arrange a test within three business days of receiving confirmation.

The welder’s test can be conducted at our facility or one of our test supervisor can witness the test at your location.
